Jason is a second year Ph.D student interested in advancing the field of conservation planning. His research objectives include introducing more detailed and accurate scenarios of threat and cost into conservation priority setting, and utilizing the ecological benefits of working landscapes to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity. Using a case study landscape in the Sacramento/San Joaquin valley, Jason hopes to create a cost-effective and efficient conservation plan for the area while also minimizing the social cost of expected flood damages by locating agricultural lands that exemplify the benefits of multifunctional agriculture.
