Columbia University, New York PhD. Candidate (2004 – present). Research Interest: People wildlife conflict in the protected area system of Dominica. I received my B.Sc. in Terrestrial Ecology from the University of the West Indies(UWI), Mona, Jamaica. My MPhil. Degree (Distinction) was a joint degree from Tulane University-New Orleans/UWI. Thesis Topic: Effect of human habitat disturbance on resident and migrant bird communities in the Caribbean tropical dry forest life zone of Jamaica. I have worked with USAID/Jamaica for 3 years as their Project Support and Logistics Manager for the Ridge to Reef Watershed Project between 2001 and 2004. Prior to this I was Program Director for BirdLife Jamaica (Jamaican partner of BirdLife International). My future career goals are to work within the United Nations Environmental Program and with programs improving rural development and protected area management in small island development states.
