forum topics

Posted by Kimberly N. Russell at January 08. 2007
Hi Ashley,

I haven't been able to figure out how to add a new forum topic to the discussion section that isn't under one of the established headings, i.e., I have a topic that doesn't fit under 'help', 'primary literature and data' or 'scheduling'. Or is it that I don't have access? Either way, could you let me know?
Thanks! Kim

Hi Kim,

I'm trying to figure out what's going on. Did you click on the "add forum" link at the top of the page when you're in the "discuss" area? If so, did the site bring up a list of categories to choose from (in addition to those above, there's also questions for faculty, themes, readings etc.). Let me know if you're seeing any of that.

Hi Ashely. Nope, I can't find an 'add forum' link at the top of the page anywhere. I even called my husband over to take a look and he didn't see anything either. Could it be a permissions issue? Or a browser issue? I'm viewing the site in Safari. I'll try Firefox and see if it makes any difference.
thanks,
Kim

Kim,
I'll try to change your privileges in the discussion forum. For now, would you like me to open up a new forum for you and you can get started?

There's no hurry. I won't be at work again for a couple of days. But if it's not working by then, I'll let you know and you can start a new topic for me.
thanks.
