Worthwhile readings
Up to General Carbon Discussion
While reading Tscharntke et al 2005 "Landscape perspective on agricultural intensification and biodiversity" I came across a reference to three articles which I think are very well suited to our group. I have added them to the recommended reading folder, but in a sense I think that they are better than the ones we have required because they focus directly on biodiversity and its effects on carbon (like the Bunker et al paper). I strongly recommend that we all at the very least take a look at these articles and consider how they might direct our research plans.
They are:
Catovsky et al (2002) Biodiversity and ecosystem productivity: implications for carbon storag. Oikos 97, 443-448
Huston and Marland (2003) Carbon management and biodiversity. J. of Environmental Management 67, 77-86
Totten et al (2003) Biodiversity, climate, and the Kyoto protocol: risks and opportunities. Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment 1, 262-270
Enjoy!
